Mark Chris(topher) Merchant (nuevemuerte.com) recently opened an original art gallery/custom tattoo studio in Dallas, Texas where he works with fellow artist tattooer, Tim Creed (timcreed.com). No flash present, all art drawn for the clients. Mark uses "freehand" technique doing only Japanese inspired work. Mark C. Merchant now offers (exclusively) Japanese inspired tebori (hand-poke) technique for coloring-in of tattoos. He still prefers to machine outline. I agree. Nine Eyes does do great work. My first tattoo was done by Mark almost 12 years ago and has held color very well. Since then I have had Mark do a full color half sleeve and one black and grey Dali repro. All the pieces still look great years later.
