Philosophers Stone

I would like to get a new tattoo. I would like one that is a beutiful pheonix carrying a philosophers stone. My problem is i am not sure how to show its a philosephers stone without it just looking like a rock or a gem. does anyone have any ideas? I have seen one wich looked like a diamond with a double headed eagle, im thinking that might be hard to see unless my whole tattoo is the size of my back and I dont want one quite that big. Any suggestions would be great, thanks.
