Portrait in Jersey or east coast area

I'm looking for a portrait artist on the east coast. I've thought about going to see Tom Renshaw but was just wondering if there was anyone who is pretty close to as good as him and may be a little closer to me and save me a plane trip.

I don't know how far you're looking to travel, but Julio Rodriguez at Hope Gallery in New Haven does some incredible B&G portraits; There are several on this site alone if you check out the artist galleries; they're classified by state.

shaneoneilltattoos.com is just as good with black n grey portraits.. [email removed] does excellent portraits too..And Seth,who just started working there,does nice portraits also.. His work isn't on the site yet,but he's got some of his work at...www.myspace.com/mushrushart www.chrisadamek.com although he doesn't specialize in photorealistic work,does really nice portraits..
