Problem tattoo

So I got a dragonfly on my chest just below my left collarbone. The Monday after I got the tattoo I woke up with a fever and I was vomiting. My new ink had a red ring around it, it was raised and hot to the touch. It was also seeping yellowish liquid. I went to the doctor the next day and got perscribed 500 mgs of cephalexin. I've been keeping the tattoo clean and moisturized with the artists reccommended ointment. It seemed better for a couple of days but now it's got small red pimples under the green and red ink and those spots are refusing to heal. It's been over a week now and it's still hot to the touch and it looks like the red and green tattoo ink has eaten into my skin. My tattoo artist told me I need to lay off the ointment because it's going to heal fine. It's not, this is my second tattoo I remember how it should heal. My brother told me I have staph and told me to ignore what the artist said. Your thougts?

sounds like its infected, but hard to tell without looking at it. take the meds and keep it clean. mild soap (non-scented) and water a couple times a day. try not to touch it to much or rub against anyone else. it'll heal but will needed to be touched up.
