Ya know this is a difficult subject...there are so many variables to consider...The size of the piece, the amount of work put into the tattoo by the artist, how the artist treated you, your overall satisfaction with this particular tattoo experience.( and by overall I mean how you were treated by the "front" people, appearance of the shop etc...For example if you got an amazing tattoo but the people up front treated you in a shabby or rude manner etc)...
We have a big sign in our shops.." The only tips we expect is that you tell your friends about your experience at this studio and show off your tattoo to EVERYBODY!!!"
And its funny how some geological areas are so different as far as tips go...In cali and nevada tips are almost always given however here in the midwest that practise is not nearly so prevalent
In the end ya gotta just use your own judgement...I wish I could have been more help!!....TAz
I did a $350 piece on sat. night and my customer tipped me $40 ..............i was happy.
But for me any tip is fine ...i dont rely on tips to survive ....i also think the best tips are referrals
i get tips from $5 to $100 mostly around $10 to $25
but any tip is fine.
it don't matter to me i know some people have more money than others.
