Question for the experienced

Hey, For anyone who would be interested in helping me out a little here, my question is this. Look at your forearm. Tell me, going down the side that faces away from you how much would it cost to put FAT MIKE going down the side in old english lettering. It would just be black ink and the letters wouldnt be that big. The lettering would be thick but hollowed in the center too. It is my first tattoo and I dont know where to start. Yes i can handle pain and all thats not my problem. Im leaving for the navy soon and i was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate. Well if anyone has anything positive to say about it i would appreciate it. Keep it real, Fat Mike
Hey Mike, Most artists can't give you an exact answer with so little information to go off of. You said the letters wouldn't be that big, but to someone else, 3 inches isn't that big. What dimensions are you looking for? Let people know your budget. Some artists will go on an hourly rate, others go on a flat price. Being that it is going to be hollow and only black with not alot of trememdous detail, you shouldn't be that bad off. If you get a chance, go to the Zone, I believe it is around Schiller Park. Talk to Joe Ryan. He does badass black and grey work and is probably one of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Be ready to spend between 100-200, just to give you SOME kind of idea. Good luck to you, J
