Raised letters

So i got a wrist tattoo yesterday that is just text, i'm a bit worried about it as all the letters are really raised, they almost look like icing on a cake! i have washed it gently and applied bepanthen (as per artists instructions) but i'm just worried the artist has messed up or i am doing something wrong?? i don't remember my first tattoo feeling this way - although i couldn't see it as it was on my back.. it would break my heart if this tattoo doesn't heal as beautifully as i imagined it :( the letters just look so raised and as though i can peel them right off! is this normal and if not, what can i do?? help would be really appreciated!

Ally, it has been only a day since you have gotten tattooed, and the fact that it is raised and in the wrist area it is totally normal. When in doubt call your artist though-but it sounds to me pretty normal. I have had both wrists done and can tell you I have also experienced the same thing-both healed beautifully but took a tad longer due to the location. If you see any signs of redness, infection (such as puss) or increased pain associated with that see an md immediately-otherwise just keep doing what your artist recommended and good luck and congrats on your new tattoo!
