I got a red tattoo a couple years ago. It seemed to heal fine and I never had a bad reaction or any undue pain or itching. However, when it was all healed up, the red was blotchy. I had it redone and it healed the same and became blotchy again. I went to a different place to get it fixed and it still came in blotchy after healing. I have very slight photo sensitivity. The way the tattoo is, I just can't fill it in black so I am wondering if there is some kind of red that might not come in blotchy or if I am doomed to have blotchy for the rest of my life.

That sounds like it could be a few things. If it is the same spots that are blotchy over and over it could be some sort of reaction to the red ink. But if you haven't had any reaction too it, which you would know if you did, it could possibly be the way it was way it was put in. I have personally had small problems getting red in the first time but it hasn't happened every time. It could also be the type of ink your artist is using, some companies make shitty reds, so you could always ask him/her what they think it could be. If your going to a good artist they should be able to come up with a few solutions to your problem. Good luck to ya.
