I just went to a new "shop" in the area today, and I need to ask something of all you professional artists. Is it a good idea to have a shop in the basement of an office building, with no separate tattooing area other than a curtain you can draw to close off half the room. There is carpet on the floor except for a 10x10 area holding a jury wired dentists's chair and a used hairstylist's chair, and carpet on two of the four walls. Oh, and you can detect the lovely springtime scent of mildew in the air. I have been to a lot of shops, and would like to become an artist someday, and this one scared the shit out of me. Am I too touchy?

RUN...RUN...RUN....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Report them to the health department- doesn't sound like a legit operation.
No, not a good situation for tattooing!
