Shop Software

Is anyone familiar with software designed specifically for tattoo shops? POS software with scheduling, payroll, retail, IC stuff, etc included? We've heard rumors but can't find anything made for a tattoo shop's special needs...

Get quickbooks - does all you need if set up right, adn your accountant can take ans EASILY do your taxes etc.

As far as I know there aren't any packages that run a complete tattoo studio business perfectly. I do know there are a few folks that have some components in the works. The perfect piece of software would certianly work with quickbooks, most accountants who take care of businesses use this program. I imagine this perfect software package is a custom Filemaker database would take care of contacts/appointments/time clock type of tasks. Excel might be used to do a spreadsheet of projections (of customers and merch sales vs expences, etc, etc) if you really dig into the numbers of the business. If you do find something please let me know if its any good!

Shit, if we got 4-7 studios together to pitch in, I could project lead and program the software. I'd be very interested in this project...

I'm a software developer based in Salt Lake City, UT, and a Tattoo Shop Management software is something I've been thinking about writting for a while now. I haven't really checked on requirements or what would be really needed in a system like that, but that's something I currently have in mind. Let me know if you have any ideas/sugestions.

Many hair salon/ spa programs allow you to create your own list of services, tattoos could easily be added, while the stuff you don't need can be deleted. The better ones come with powerful marketing tools.

My husband ownes a tattoo shop, and I am a restaurant manager, and my POS is Pixelpoint, which I could totally see would be able to fit the needs of a shop - you can program each employee and each "menu" item for your specific needs... It's pretty complicated to initially program, but it could be done.
