should i wait??

hey everyone. im 17 years old and ive been thinking for a good while now about getting a tattoo. ive been thinking about it for about 4 years. what i want is a small garden angel on my right shoulder. the reasons behind it are vary personal. and trust me its not just because everyone else thinks its cool and so on. so my question is.... should i wait untill im 18?? thanks everyone

I'm not sure what the laws are over there, but u cant get one in cali until ur 18. but if u know what u want and u've thought hard about it and it really means something to you, go for it. i have 2 now and i'm about to get another one, just letting u know tattoos are addicting. hope everything works out for you!

Yes I believe you should wait. In Chicago you had to be 21 to get a tattoo up until January 1st, 2007. Now you have to be 18. I recently got the spade, diamond, club and heart tattood around my arm and I absolutely love it. I love it so much because my artist and I came up with the design ourselves. I'll post some pics in alittle bit. I'm only 18 too but I didn't get these tattoos just to get them. I want to become a tattoo artist myself, and just by watching my artist for the 45 minutes my tattoos took, I learned a lot about what goes on in a shop. I've been thinking about tattoos since I was 11. I waited 7 years to get one and I think I made the right choice. You should do the same too.

True that! I would wait and save and get a bad ass tattoo from Jeff Ensminger who goes up to Oklahoma to do custom tattoos alot. Elmo might too...
