Sorry another,,,,

Sorry in advance because I know these posts pop up 100X a week. But before I just aimlessly travel I want to hit said target audience to get opinions at least. I have been around the buisness off and on for around 9yrs and trying to get my foot in the door. I have recently decided to go tooth and nail at it and commit myself 110% to achieving my goal to become an apprentice. I am willing to travel a fair bit and I am honestly completely comitted to making this happen. I have had bloodbourne pathogen training So I am not clueless as far as the health end of things goes. I have a good friend who has been in the industry for about 4yrs but the shop he is at and the shops near me are not at all interested in anyone or even looking at thier work. So Anyways here are a couple of sketches to give you some kind of idea of my ability and I am located in the SW Va area zip 24201. I have a portfolio assembled also if intersted. I really like the first two! Especially the head with the pencils...very orginial! The third one needs some work. It's just a little confusing when you look at it, it might just be how the picture was taken, I'm not sure. I'm not a tattoo artist, but I think you are heading in the right direction! I have alot of stuff in every medium imaginable. But I do not have any others scanned or photographed at the moment. I have a full portfolio set up and I am steady adding to it.

Well I have had an offer for an apprentice position with a great artist with 22yrs under his belt. He has been featured in several major magazines and does some amazing work. Hopefully I can come up with the funds it requires now. but he said when I first walked in he also was not taking anyone on. I showed him my work and talked with him a bit showing him how serious I was and he said ok tell ya what you get the money together if your serious and I will work with you. So there is actually hope out there for everyone looking. May take awhile...8yrs for me (and 3 grand to go :( but I am sure it will be worth far more than that just to be able to say I love my job. that to me is priceless .

Awesome! Sounds like a great lead, Virginia has some awesome tattoo artists. indeed there is hope, the recipe is pretty foolproof. Talent, hard work, and more hard smart work will pay off in the long run every time. Everything about good tattooing is about patience, its a shame so many people dont learn it till its too late. Wish we could see more of your portfolio!
