Stuck on a design

I have a customer who was in bad auto accident. She is now in a wheel chair 80% of the time. She is 55 years old and wants "this thing" the scar not as noticeable. The scar runs up her back and she is basically the type you would never see walk in to my shop. The tat would be about 5cm long and I'm stuck on something soft and respectful. Something without alot of detail but not a heart. Any suggestions?

Hey Sherry ...Thanks for your post...,this is a very important tattoo to this lady so the only thing I would suggest is to talk to in depth about things in her life that make her happy and try to glean a positive image for the work from her own mind...TAz

Well, I was kinda thinking about this idea for myself too, but I really like the thought of it for her. Maybe consider a really beautiful koi design. Something tasteful, simple but elegant because in japanese mythology, koi represent perserverance in the face of insurmountable odds. Legend goes that koi swim upstream against the river with incredible strength until they reach this waterfall. When they make it up the waterfall they are transformed into dragons (spiritual beings). I believe the mother or dominant female family member is represented an orange Koi. Could be a beautiful way for her to say, none of this matters, I'm valueable and I won't give up. Just a thought.
