I bought a swashdrive tattoo machine gen 4 last year but I have just decided to use it now.
I'm just a bit confused about the voltage setting.
On the official site it says to set it between 4V-12V.
Now i'm pretty sure if I set it to 2.50V It feel like it's going to blow up. Besides, the vibrations are full on at that setting. If i set it at 1.5V for lining then it seems ok but i'm concern the lines will be weak and fade very quickly.
Can anyone let me know what I should do because i really like the feel of it but don't want to do the wrong thing on someone skin.

what kind of power supply are you using?
the manifacturer of the swash drive strongly reccomends using a INSTEK lab grade power supply with current set at max.
I run the gen 5 at 12.75 for lining and 11.5 for shading 10.3 for color blending. But dont run a gen 4 on that kind of voltage. I usaully see my piers at the shop using 1.8 volts with their gen 4.
cheers dude,
just what i thought. I'm using an instek as well and i do run it now at 1.8V gor lining and 2.2-2.3V for a 7mag.
Glad to hear i'm on the right track.
I'm also looking at getting a gen 6. Why is the difference in voltage so big between the gen4 and gen5-6?
