I had a tattoo on my forearm, about 1/4" by 3". When I decided to get rid of it, TatGoneInk was my best options at the moment. It significantly faded the tattoo, maybe down to 30%, but left significant scarring after 5-7 sessions.
I let it rest for a good year, then found a great (and affordable) laser removal dermatologist. The remaining ink has undergone about 4 sessions with the laser and most of the ink is gone. But now for the scarring...
I have received a few sessions of Lumenis UltraPulse ActiveFX scar treatment, which is a laser treatment for wrinkles and scarring. It has improved the scarring somewhat... but it still looks like the scar form of the tattoo. I've also used ScarAway silicon sheets for a couple of months now, and have noticed a decent change in the redness, but regardless... still a scar.
I want it gone. It's in a spot that completely visible in short sleeves. I've dealt with the tattoo for 6 years now, and have obviously tried many, many different methods.
As far as I can tell, my last resort is excision. I understand it may leave a scar... but I'd rather have a "scar-looking scar" rather than a scar in the shape of my tattoo.
I'd love anyone's input on my situation, thanks for any comments, advice, or suggestions.
TatGoneInk caused scarring...now what are my options?
