Tattoe Irritation

I really need some help I got a tattoe a few days ago of some roses one rose is fine but the other was okay until I washed my tattoe with warm water and put my a/d ointment on it ...I was rubbing the ointment on and next thing I know it was bright red and I believe my flesh is showing ...I didnt scratch or anything do you think that happened because my tat wasnt completly dry or what are your thoughts cuz I dont know what to do
