Tattoo Beginner

I want to let you know that its great that you have a Q&A forum! I am completely new to the tattoo business, although not the art world. I cant wait to start tattooing, as I have been asked for years to do them! I really would love to be in an apprenticeship, but there seems to be not many GOOD tattoo shops near where I live. They are either dirty, or known to be in jail every other weekend. I would LOVE for someone who knows the business to help me out. I know that courses online may not be the way to go, as I would rather the first-hand teaching. A paper stating that you are qualified doesnt mean you are good, honest and clean!!!! I am a realistic type artist, but also do other types of art. Does anyone know of a good site or person available here, able to help out a newbie?Thanks in advance for any help!
