Hey I got a black and grey tattoo yesterday and I am experiencing burning while I am cleaning it. They told me to clean it 2-3 times with antibacterial soap, no alcohol, and they gave me A&D ointment for after the wash. They said to put a light coat of that on for 10 minutes then pat dry. All of these instructions I have followed perfectly.
So I guess I am asking if it is normal for the tattoo to burn while cleaning this early in the stage?
Tattoo burns during cleaning

I can only speak from my personal experiance that the "burning" i feel is mostly only when the water is running over the tattoo to rinse off the soap(i use softsoap antimicrobial), and for a second afterward. The outline burnt far more then the coloring in phases. Other then that i didn't really get any burn, and it went away after a few days.
i am not a tattooist nor professional at anything here, but i figured this may help a little.
it's perfectly natural, a tattoo is basically a controlled abrasion on your skin, think of how if you slip and scrape your elbow it will burn in the shower, it's the same idea.
it will go away after a day or two when the skin starts to heal over top of the tattoo, until then grin and bear it
Alright, cool thanks alot guys.
