Tattoo conventions..what to expect?

I've never been to a tattoo convention but I am thinking of going for the first time (Forged in Ink in Reading PA) My artist is going and I have a flyer so I thought I'd check it out. My question is if your not getting actual work done there, what can I expect as far as the convention itself..? I'd essentially be travelling about 100 miles one way to go.. Thanks!

Expect that you will witness an awesome collection of top notch artists....there are some conventions that book performers such as bands or sideshows and you can always count on the tattoo contests, if you are not completely enthrawled with tattooing or tattoos themself you may get bored after awhile....I hope you get a sweet tattoo ....and thuroughly soak in the whole experience...have a good time .
