Tattoo Discrimination

Hi! I need some advice. I'm an 18, almost 19 year-old male who is wanting to get a tattoo in memory of my dad who tragically died of a brain tumor a few years back. I've been thinking about the idea of a tribute tattoo for him for the last few months. My family don't have a problem with it, many having tattoos themselves (Even my Gran!), but during my search for inspiration for the design I stumbled on a thread discussing tattoo discrimination. This made me wonder: "Would I face problems if I got a tattoo?". I don't care much for what people think of me, but I do want to know how this will affect my future career chances (I'm learning to be a prop/modelmaker). I'm not planning any beyond this one, and the tattoo I have in mind is just words, no imagery. Like I said, many in my family have tattoos, but they are rather small an easy to hide. I want mine on my right, inner forearm, but realise this would be easy to see since I wear short-sleeved t-shirts all of the time. Basically, I just want advice. Will this cause me problems? What can be done to avoid trouble? Will employers respect the nature of my tattoo, or will they merely overlook it and discriminate against me? Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
The simple answer is NOBODY can guess what anyone would do or not do at any given time or instance. If your really concerned get the tattoo in a place where you can easily cover it for a job such as your chest. Best of both worlds. You didn't deprive yourself of that memorial tattoo, nor did you jeopardize your career choices.
even in this tattooed day and age, you may still face such problems. if you're so worried about it, put it in a place where it is able to be covered. between your shoulder blades lets say. i dont have to worry about this because we wear a uniform where i work...and its tattoos
