Tell your friend not to worry about it, he should have whatever machine his mentor wants him to.

starters its just a plain tattoo machine with a label.....unless your buying from an ebay-china seller, "most" (not all just most) are made with the same materials and with the same methods, if his mentor is happy with they way they work for him, then fuck it and use them.... as your experiance grows. so will your knoweledge of what machine will work best for him ...... cheers from aus
