Hi,
My first post and it seems a cool place here so I have a few questions about some ideas I have.
I already have some tattoos, some old english script and some colour tribal stuff. I think these were like tattoos of their moment, much as I love them there's not much of me in them so this time round I'm thinking hard about what I want doing. I'm thinking of 3/4 sleeves.
I really love black and grey japanese stuff and have started to understand a little about having a background with other stuff 'floating' on it. I'm considering a black/grey japanese wave type of background but rather than using traditional japanese floating things, using things that mean something to me. I'd thought of them in a realistic/cubist, rather than a stylised or typical tattoo style.
Does mixing styles like this generally work?
I have also seen a tattoo of Nick Baxters which is finished with half tone dots which I've not seen elsewhere. Would that kind of effect work only with colour or could a black and grey tattoo work equally as well.
I live in England and there is a guy not far away, Louie Molloy who is highly regarded, particularly for japanese work.
Thanks for any help/advice
Tattoo ideas, will these work
