tattoo on the chest

I'm planning on getting my first tattoo soon. A rather large tribal wolf on my chest. It's all black thick lines, no color or major detail. What I want to know is, Is getting a tatto on the chest that unbearable? I hear most people say the chest hurts like hell.. What i want to know is.. Is a tattoo anywhere, specifically the chest, ever so painful that it is completely unbearable? Or is it one of those things where im going to be gritting my teeth, and squinting my eyes. Not screaming at the top of my lungs, basicaly. Cause after all, no matter how much it hurts, it wont kill me, and I'll come out with the piece i've been designing for a year. I'm right, right?
