Tattoo w/ children's names

6 messages · last activity 11/4/2008

I have two little children, my daughter is 18 months and my son is 3 months, and I want to have a tattoo done incorporating their names. Not sure exactly where I want to have it placed. I don't want just their names (too boring) but I don't want something too big and flashy either. These are my babies, and I want it too be unique and special! Any ideas? Thanx so much!
I always say this because I was having a hard time thinking of ideas for my tat to honor my love for my little daughters, but I'd go see a custom guy and talk it over with him/her. These guys may have a lot of ideas you've never even thought of. Tell them about you, the kids, what's important to you, and they'll come up with something great!
wait till they can write there names and get them to write it on you and let your tattoo artist go over it itll make the kids feel hella special
I think It would look good if you got two hearts with a ribbon going across it and get your name on the ribbon and each kids name on a heart and a wing on each side...On your side or back.
I am going to be getting pictures done of my kids. Only instead the the normal portrait I am going to be getting low brow cartoon characters to represent them. You have little girls so check out http://www.markryden.com/ he has some really good art. It is a little on the twisted side but great none the less. It's not for everyone but try and think outside the box. Do you really want something that everyone else has, such as a portrait or heart commemorate. Not that there is anything wrong with those tattoos, I just like to be different. As for the names why? Are you going to forget them? I had quite a few artist tell me that you will do nothing but busy up a perfectly good tattoo by adding names and dates and such. And they made a very valid point. That's just my .02......
I had an awesome tattoo done with my 2 kid's name done on my ankle. I went to Tainted Skin Tattoos in Crown Point, Indiana, and told Rob (Owner) to come up with an idea for a tattoo. I went back a week later, and I could not have asked for anything better. I am Irish, so I asked him to incorporate a Shamrock in the tattoo. So, on the front center is a perfect shamrock, with a celtic design in between, on the outside of my ankle is my daughter's name "Caley", and on the inside of my ankle is my son's name, "Will". I am always receiving compliments on my tattoo. Now that I am expecting my 3rd child, I will have to figure out how to get my next child's name in their, "Jack". Hope this helps.
