Text Tattoo

Hello. I just have a question. I got a text tattoo on my wrist a week ago. It scabbed over (I used Aveeno lotion by the way) and now the scabbing is pretty much gone. There still seems to be skin on top of it, though. Is this the reason my letters look blurry? Before the scabbing the letters looked nice and crisp and good. Right now they kinda look crappy. Is this normal? I do have another tattoo, but it's on the back of my neck so I never really got to see it heal. Thanks!
