The apprentise

Hi all I have now launched a blog to document my journey to become a tattoo artist. So if anybody is interested in following my process you can see it here at tattooguide.me: http://www.tattooguide.me/ I have added a video introduction, a picture section and the about me page will also give you an idea about who i am. The are only a few new drawings as i type, but im hoping to make atleast one new drawing a day the next month. comments on my skills are more than welcome. And if you have any advise, critism etc. feel free to post it here.
In a lot of ways, I feel your pain. I am a new tattoo artist, only a few months outside of my apprenticeship at the age of 28. I am a full time web/graphic designer who stopped picking up a pencil a while ago and have had to claw and fight to get those artistic skills back only realize i need to claw and fight to get better every day, every tattoo, every drawing. However it seems that you have a lot of work you need to invest into your artistic abilities before you think of tattooing someone (I won't get into the "you need to apprentice" argument here). Proportions, perspective, shading..etc. Your painting style is definitely more abstract, which is great on canvas, a different story on skin. I don't want to discourage you, as it sounds like life has been a bumpy ride, but if you were my drinking buddy, I wouldn't tell you to ditch all to go after this dream. It takes more than just drive to make a tattoo artist and there are plenty of other ways to use your artistic abilities to make an income. Best of luck to you and I hope you find a happy path in life.
I'll be keeping up with your site for sure. It's great to have someone on here actually take the advice they are given. lol I left a few comments on your site. Enjoy your journey. :)
