The "New" Miami Ink

Ok...I am sure someone is gonna chew my ass for watchin the show..and spoutin off at the mouth..but I like to watch it...so there! I couldn't believe my fuckin eyes.....here is Ami and Kat, and I think Darren doing something that I would have my license pulled for doing!!! SPEEDSTICK!!!! Now they didn't show how they applied it (aka...scraped or just used a new one each customer?) But what the fuck? Ami did a very nice angel/fairy on this ladies back and when the camera panned out there sits right next to the client a tube of underarm deodorant....again....what the fuck? I am so sorely dissappointed.....well guess I won't be watching it anymore...learned my lesson but sadly this is what client expects to see when coming into other studios and are none the wiser to the EXTREMELY high risk of C.C......oh well... Mike

Last shop I was in on a regular basis just used greensoap. -shrug-

Maybe it was just for the artist to use on him/her self so they don't offend the client under the hot camera lights...eeeewwwww!

Has anyone else noticed when they hug clients with fresh, unwrapped tattoos? ack. To those who don't know... that is just as bad, if not worse, than speedstick for cross contamination. Used Green soap for the last 12+ years, now the local healt dept. says we can't use it anymore, so I'm using Technicare- holds a stencil just fine.

i use alocohol and it works fine, dries fast. thats whats in the speed stick that causes the stencil to stick. but i've seen alot of people use pine-sol ??

Alcohol dries way too fast I would think...however I have never used a stencil so I couldn't say

I've been using Dettol for like a year and that is the best stuff to stick a stencil with, hands down. Unfortunately, ( here in the U.S. ) its not that easy to get your hands on.
