VASALINE?? what else then ??

I am just wondering why some tattooist are still using vaseline or petroleum jelly for a lube in tattoos. but being an oil based product it repells the pigment and prvents healing...... so what else can be used instead of VAS??? so next time my tattooist recommends vas i can give it to em.... Either that or i think its time to find a new tattooist.....

i use bag balm. A&D can also be used pulvex,bacatracin or vasaline all are being used for glide of needle on skin and help protect open skin. back in the day vas was used because thats pretty much all we had ive known artist that have been in buiss for 30 years they still use vas for tattoo application.
