Wavicide-01

I was wondering about this Wavicide-01 stuff. I bought some needles once that I thought were pre-sterilized but weren't. The only method I know to sterilize is to use an Autoclave. 've been reading all the instructions on Wavicide-01 sheets and maybe I'm wrong but they say you can sterilize instruments by letting them soak for 10 hours at a certain temperature. Now if I have unused unsterilized needles... can I use Wavicide-01 to sterilize just by letting them soak for the ammount suggested? That just doesn't make sense to me.... Whats going on here?! I mean this stuff says it kills HIV-1 Hep B etc. etc. It's got a nice long list of the shit it kills. Anyone know the deal with this? I'm reading the sheets that came with it and it's just not registering as "correct"... ?

if you soak unused needles in wavacide then tattoo with them, you will be injecting dried wavacide into your clients...............come on

there have been a few chemical sterilization products that have been put on the market over the years, They are not intended to be used for human surgical instruments. these products are used for disinfection and cold sterilization of instruments that dont invade the body. there are a few health risks involved with being exposed to these types of chemicals, but they are minor. However, I do believe that if these chemicals were injected to the body the risks would be more severe. I would not advise using these to sterilze Tattoo equipment hope this helps. Mortis

just another thing about Wavicide, Cidex, and other cold sterilization chemicals, the HSDB (hazardous Substance Data Bank) has alot to say about this chemical. I was also wondering about this waveicide also. I got a bottle of it sitting here, and Your right it says it kills all that stuff. It also says aftre soaking in it for 45 mins things will be disinfected. 10 hours soaking in it, it will be sterile. You are then to rinse off tools in sterile water... Not to sure what to think, I have looked up this stuff on the net, and seen good comments and bad comments... So I have NO idea!!!! Baker sendz..........

If you are following OSHA guidelines and just plain common sense (autoclave,barriers etc etc) ya just do not need this dangerous shit...Our society has become way too chemically oriented and a lot of the stuff that people use is extremely dangerous and simply unnecessary....TAz
