white tattoos

ok. I saw already on here that someone was asking about white tattoos. I have some questions too. I am getting ready to get my first tattoo, and I wanna start small. I was thinking of gettin the word "faith" on the inside of my wrist. I am seriously considering white ink because I know that is a very noticeable place, and I plan to be a teacher in the near future, and wouldn't want kids constantly asking be about my tattoo. But I also want it somewhere where I can look at it, and see it, and be reminded of why I got it. I have pale skin, so I think this is a good option for me? My questions about white ink are these: How exactly does it work? I have seen some pics that make it look almost like the tattoo is a scar. Does it raise up the skin more so than a normal tattoo? Does just plain text look good in white ink? I have seen some comments about it can possibly heal incorrectly...what exactly does that mean? Is white ink more expensive than black ink? Does it hurt more? I saw something about getting color accents...is that a good idea to make it stand out a little more? Do you usually have to get white tattoos re-done? Sorry I know that is a lot of questions...but any feedback would be greatly appreaciated! Thanks! ps--know of any good tattoo shops in san diego?
