why japanese

hi, i'm just wondering why there are so many people around who get japanese stuff done? are they actually japanese? or do they just like the designs... can you get pretty authentic sleeves and back pieces done here in the usa?

I really dont know yeat, or can describe, who in america does Traditional Japanese Tattoos. Because its so vast are. Im just a amateur. But anyone with more knowledge, please, tell us all :) And I dont know why it is so popular. Maybe because the style wast ment to be tattooed, and fits the body prefectly. So its just natural.
