hi, my name is steven holmes, im 20 years old i bought my first machine when i was 16 and started off just tattooing freinds and myself as a hobby, now i do it for money on the side, im pretty much self taught and do not claim to be an amazing artist. i would love to learn a lot more about the art and aquier more skills and learn new techniques.. does anyone have any suggestions on some good reputable books or dvds? any info will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

good luck everybody is pretty stuck up about that stuff but i tell you this.......guy atchisons books are prieless, nikko hortado too and joshua carltons books are awesome.....i recommend any dvd you get ,put it in the dvd player, put it on loop and leave it on for a month or two .....even leave the volume up in your sleep.this really aint a part time off to the side "gig or hobby".you have to saturate your whole life with art related activities.....lose your girl, they slow you down and any free moment you get should be spent drawing, sketchin,or paintin....i learned more from painting than any other artists tips...in fact beware....some artists will go so far as to tell you exactly the opposite of a proper technique......i respect your interest and integrity to keep on even though you not gettin any feedback....e mail me anytime...i dont check everyday but always [email removed]
