 This 9x12 inch oil study on canvas board has been my first painting since the 2020 pandemic broke out. I have always had a fascination with skulls since a young age, so this is not a new subject matter for me. However in these precarious times where life seems so fragile,I think the skull image may resonate differently in the viewer's eye. There is still a feeling of hope and refuge given by the painting standing alongside the skull though. A sign that in time, this too shall pass. If we all the see the best in each other, no matter our beliefs or nationality, things can one day change for the better.
