The Trinacria is the symbol of Sicily.  Biagio's client of Sicilian hertitage wanted to emblazen her back with the image of her motherland.  Biagio created an original representation of the Trinacria by utilizing elements of his client's personal life.  Freehand was the method used to layout the design onto the skin.  colors from the flag were introduced to the wings of the medusa.  Jasmine vines were wrapped around the legs as a tribute to the wearer's memories of her travels to Sicily.
