First tattoos are always fun! Especially when the client sits well, doesn't move and lets me do my thing artistically. This young lady in particular just told me she wanted an image that had strong contrast but still be feminine and delicate. I chose to push contrast in a few ways on this one. First with color by leaving the anchor black and making the flowers all colored, secondly by using sharp outlines on the anchor and leaving the roses with no soft edges, and lastly by adding dimension to the pink roses and leaving the anchor flat. All these elements work together to make the image pop off the skin and stand out against the elements within it.
