When asked about doing a koi that was some what different, I was all about it. At the time I was looking at alot of sixties art, such as posters from the Fillmore, Rick Griffin and The Yellow Submarine. I really enjoyed the bold simple colors and high contrast of this art. I also thought it would be cool to change up all the element colors instead of the usual blue water and orange koi. My client was totally into it and the end result turned out supper bold and some what mechanical in the way it looks. I really love this tattoo, when you see it's a total attention getter!
