We think the way out of burnout is to grind until the calendar finally clears. So, we skip the day off and tell ourselves that we'll rest when things slow down.
But effort without recovery is what burns us out. And it doesn't just wear us down, it shows up in our work.
Tattoo inquiries start feeling like a hassle instead of exciting, and the ideas come slower because we're too fried to grow past the artists we were two years ago.
The craft, the career, and the life we wanted outside of it aren't three separate things. They run from the same tank. So when it's empty, all three putter out.
So this counts.
An hour snuggling with the dogs.
An afternoon blocked off like you'd block time for a client, because the time off is doing more for the work than another session when you're already maxing out.
What's your version of the dog hour, the thing that fills the tank back up?
If yours has gone missing and the whole thing feels stuck, that's what I work on with artists. DM or comment COACH and we'll set up a call.
