Do you want more clients, or do you want different clients?

Do you want more clients, or do you want different clients?

Do you want more clients, or do you want different clients?

Before you sort your calendar or touch your price, get clear on what your goal is right now.

Is it paying the bills? Getting more clients in the door? Doing specific tattoos instead of whatever books? Having people travel to you?

It's easy to say all of it. But if you're struggling to pay the bills, that comes first. That changes what belongs on your calendar, how you negotiate and how long it takes to get where you're going.

Your goal sets the priority, and the priority tells you what your calendar should be full of. Once it's sorted, you can see where your time goes and what your price needs to do next.

If bills are the priority, your price might need to stay put while you fill the calendar. If you're booked solid with work that isn't aligned anymore, your price might be the tool that makes room for the pieces you want.

Your goal isn't just what you want. It's what comes next from where you are right now. If you want more clients but you don't know how to pitch or negotiate a tattoo yet, being picky about dream pieces is the wrong order.

Change your price before you know what comes first and you're just moving the same chaos around at a higher rate. Sequence matters more than the number.
