Paulo came from Holland (the Netherlands) to get a memorial color portrait tattoo of his mother. The reference photo was a small picture from the 1980s. Paulo asked for a banner and poppy flowers so I went with a more traditional feel to give the tattoo some gnarly contrast. His mom used to sign her emails with "BME" at the end so I thought it was a great idea to put that in the banner. I feel so fortunate to have been able to do Paulo's first tattoo; and such an important tattoo.
