In Progress…Chandler and I started talking this past February. He had an Idea for a full-sleeve tattoo; something he had always dreamed of getting. After a couple smaller tattoos, he decided to come to me to create a Nordic Tattoo representing what matters most to him; his family. . We met initially, and he had a lot of ideas floating around. After speaking for an hour or so, I gave him some direction to help form a cohesive idea that would work as a tattoo and yet still allow me the creative freedom. And he did great with that. We met again in April to finalize a design. We decided on a Nordic Bear, some knot work representing his wife and areas to represent his children with runes and custom bindrunes and parents with some background elements. The bear being the protector and the family an integral part that holds it all together. Areas to come represent parents and legacy, but that’s for the next Session. . Due to some technical difficulties, I wasn’t able to get my two concepts over to Chandler until the night before… I wasn’t too worried; I put countless hours into both concepts. But luckily Chandler and his wife Loved the main design, and we sat out the next morning drawing, stenciling and Dotting our way through two full days. We made some great progress, and got back to it bright and early the next morning. We were able to add some details to parts of the tattoo, but I wanted to make sure this tattoo looked good until January, when we will dive back into it for 2 more session Blocks. . This video represents the first session block; 2 days in a row. . This design has been another lesson for me. I grew as an artist while designing these, and found a few techniques that will serve well when drawing these pieces from now on. Incremental improvements add up over the years. . Anyway, thanks for watching. Keep an eye out early 2027 as Chandler and I jump back into this sleeve. We have some cool plans to finish it up early 2027. . That being said… I have a really cool Nordic bear that will be up for grabs in the future.
