This Privacy Policy explains how TattooNOW ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards personal information when you visit tattoonow.com, browse a studio or artist site hosted on the TattooNOW network, or use the TattooNOW admin as a member.
Who we are
TattooNOW is a web platform for tattoo studios and artists, operated from Easthampton, Massachusetts since 2000. We publish the tattoonow.com network directory and host our members' websites. Questions about this policy: send a message.
Two kinds of people, two kinds of data
Visitors browse the network and member sites. Members are the studios and artists whose sites and listings we host. This policy covers both. Each member site also carries its own privacy policy, written by or for that studio, which governs what that studio does with the enquiries it receives.
Information we collect
- Enquiries and consult requests: the name, email address, phone number and message you submit through a contact or consult form, plus any reference images you attach. An enquiry sent through a member's site goes to that member; one sent through tattoonow.com comes to us.
- Member accounts: your login email, business details (studio name, location, the contact details you choose to publish), the images, posts and pages you upload, and billing records held by our payment processor.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referring URL, via standard server logs and privacy-friendly site analytics that do not track individuals across sites.
How we use it
- To run the network and our members' websites, and to list members in the directory.
- To deliver enquiries to the studio or artist they were sent to, and to answer the ones sent to us.
- To send transactional email to members (booking confirmations, billing, account notices) and the occasional newsletter members can opt out of at any time.
- To process subscriptions and one-time purchases through our payment processor; we never see or store full card numbers.
- To keep the platform secure and to improve it.
Members own their content
Every photo, post and customer record a member puts into TattooNOW belongs to that member. A member can cancel at any time and we export their content on request.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers that run the platform (hosting, database, image delivery, email delivery, payment processing), each bound to use it only on our behalf; with the member a visitor's enquiry was addressed to; and with law enforcement when a lawful subpoena or court order requires it.
Cookies
A session cookie keeps members signed in. A preference cookie remembers whether a visitor chose the artist or collector view of the homepage. We set no third-party advertising cookies. A member may add their own analytics or advertising tags to their own site; those are governed by that member's policy.
Data retention
Enquiries sent to us are kept while they are being handled and for a reasonable period afterwards. Member accounts and content are kept for as long as the account is active, and billing records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Marketing contact is kept until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where the law does not require us to keep it, or object to its use for marketing. Send a message from the address on file and we will respond within 30 days. Members can delete their own account from the admin.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date below reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, by email to members.
