About Chicano Tattoos

Chicano tattooing was born in the Mexican-American communities of the Southwest and LA, and it's the wellspring of modern black and grey. It's a refined, all-grey style with a recurring visual language drawn from life, family and faith.

• Signature motifs: fine script, praying hands, the Virgin of Guadalupe, masks, lowriders, roses
• Smooth, soft black and grey with delicate single-needle linework
• Deeply meaningful — pieces often commemorate family, faith, loss and heritage
• Thin, unwavering lines and seamless shading are the marks of a true specialist
• Suits compositions with room to tell a story — chest, arm, back, full sleeves
