Sometimes a tattoo needs a second pass

Sometimes a tattoo needs a second pass. Hands are tough on tattoos. They move constantly, the skin varies quite a bit across the area, and during healing it’s not unusual for some spots to hold differently than others. Once everything is completely healed, we can see what the tattoo actually needs. In this case, I had to go back in to strengthen some of the saturation, bump the contrast and address a few areas where ink had fallen out during healing. Nothing unusual, nothing went wrong. It’s simply part of the process sometimes, particularly with hands. After the picture of both hands you’ll see the first photo in each shows the tattoo fully healed before the second session. The others show where we took it after another pass.
