È una riflessione personale, nata da quello che ho visto e…

È una riflessione personale, nata da quello che ho visto e vissuto negli ultimi anni. Non vuole essere una critica verso qualcuno, ma l’inizio di un confronto. Voi come la vedete? 🇬🇧 ENGLISH BELOW In recent years, competition and the pursuit of visibility have led people to believe that tattoos done at conventions should cost very little—or even be free. This is not a criticism of clients. If this perception exists today, it is also because we, as tattoo artists, have contributed to it. Just to take part, compete and gain visibility, we have often been willing to sacrifice the value of our time, our effort and our work. Taking part in a convention involves significant costs: registration, travel, accommodation, materials and days away from the studio. Covering all these expenses while also giving away our work means eventually paying for the opportunity to compete—feeding a system that exists mainly because we allow it to. Personally, I went beyond simply questioning this situation: I found my own answers. My time, my work and my professionalism cannot lose their value in the name of competition. This is meant as a reminder for everyone—tattoo artists, clients and enthusiasts. Not to point fingers, but to shed light on a system that has increasingly moved in the opposite direction from those who experience tattooing as a calling, almost as a religion. The final video is dedicated to those who have truly trusted me over the years. Hold on to them. A tattoo lasts forever—it is not just another fleeting moment we have become accustomed to.
