You raise your price, and the calendar slows down

You raise your price, and the calendar slows down. The bills don't, so you drop back to your old rate. Now you're booked out again, working too much for too little.
I've been there, charging $100 an hour and burned out.
At a lower price, clients want a tattoo, and it doesn't really matter who does it. So they price hunt. As clients learn more about tattoos, they start to see them as a luxury. They're looking at the whole experience and the result, not just the price.
Those are the clients who'll pay more, and they're looking for an artist who can give them that. To hold a higher price, you have to become that artist, and one way is specializing.
Specializing doesn't mean you stop doing everything else. It means what you post talks the loudest about something you can specialize in and would enjoy doing over and over for a long time.
That's what we work on in coaching, one piece at a time, so the next time the calendar slows down, you know what to adjust instead of dropping your price.
DM me or comment COACH to talk about it.
